State 47 Las Cruces Marathon

State 47 Las Cruces Marathon is run in Las Cruces, New Mexico, on January 9, 2027, at roughly 3,900 feet above sea level. The lineup covers the marathon (26.2 miles), the half marathon (13.1 miles), a 4.7 mile Celebration Run and a 0.47 mile kids dash. The marathon course is USATF certified and fast, passing pecan orchards, the Rio Grande and the Organ Mountains, and the dry desert air and clear skies give reliable racing conditions. It served as the RRCA Western Region championship marathon in 2025.

If a Boston qualifier is the goal, this is the kind of course runners seek out: flat, certified and held in the middle of winter.
