About

Stafford's Top of Michigan Festival of Races takes place in Petoskey, Michigan, in late May, and supports the Top of Michigan Trails Council and the Petoskey High School track and cross country teams. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 7:30 a.m., the 10K at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K run/walk at 8:15 a.m., all starting and finishing in Petoskey.

The courses follow the Little Traverse Wheelway, mostly on pavement with some grass and dirt sections, and give wide views of Little Traverse Bay. Registration includes refreshments, medals and awards, and several parking options make it easy to reach the start. Lakeside weather in spring can be cool, so plan for a breezy, chilly start.
