About

The Spring SOMO Timed Trail Races take place on April 3, 2027, in South Mountain Reservation in South Orange, Essex County. Runners can choose a set number of loops, either one loop (1.9 miles / 3 km) or two loops (3.7 miles / 6 km), or take on a timed challenge of 1, 3 or 6 hours.

The course mixes singletrack, paved roads and wooded trails, starting near the dog park on Bear Lane and taking in scenic trails along the way. The 6-hour challenge starts at 8:00 a.m., the two-loop race and the 1-hour and 3-hour challenges at 9:00 a.m., and the one-loop race at 10:00 a.m.
