Skagen Marathon

The Skagen Marathon takes place in Skagen, at the northern tip of Denmark where the North Sea meets the Baltic, on 2 October 2027. Five distances are on offer: the marathon (42.2 km) at 10:00, the Grenen Trail (30 km) at 10:20, the half marathon (Halvmarathon) at 11:00, the 10 km at 13:15 and the 5 km at 14:00, alongside a 5 km for children aged 14 and under and a Halvmarathon Walk & Talk starting at 10:10.

The route runs through the town's quiet streets and coastal paths, lined with yellow houses with red roofs, and passes the sand-buried church, Den Tilsandede Kirke, and the Vippefyret lighthouse. The terrain is broadly flat but varied, alternating between tarmac cycle paths, dune plantations, beaches and sections through Gl. Skagen, the northernmost point of the country. Traffic is partly restricted for runners' safety, with the start and finish at Fiskerhuskajen. Depending on the distance, courses take in tarmac, forest trails, sand dunes and the heather and pine forests of Skagen Klitplantage.
