The Sioux Falls Skedaddle Half Marathon takes place in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in mid-May, as a community event organized by 605 Running Company and Empower U. The half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 7:00 a.m. on a fast, scenic course, and a superhero-themed one-mile run or walk, the Bryan Boys for Hope Zippy Mile, begins at 10:00.

Festivities take place at Fawick Park, and the weekend also includes a shakeout run, an expo and celebrations at the finish. Runners can join running teams. A shuttle, a bib pickup service and race-day logistics are provided, so read the instructions in advance. The Great Plains can be windy in spring, which is worth remembering when you plan a goal time.
