About

The Hometown Half Marathon & 5K/10K takes place in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in mid-May, with a local theme and an appeal for all ages. The half marathon (13.1 miles), 10K, 5K and one-mile run all start at 7:00 a.m., along with a short Kid's Dash. Races are timed with electronic chips and results are posted live, and pacers lead the half marathon.

Participants receive a custom bib, a designer shirt and a finisher medal, with reduced prices for young runners. There are free photos, treats at the finish and a virtual option. The kids' race is untimed for children ten and under, who can also join for free without taking home the gifts. The Great Plains are open and breezy, so wind is the factor to plan for.
