About

The ShortcaKe 4K in Clay combines a 4K (2.5-mile) run/walk with a festival hosted by Sunshine Horses on June 12, 2027, with a 10:00 a.m. start. The race is timed, with awards in various categories, and every participant receives a free strawberry shortcake.

The event supports Sunshine Horses, a nonprofit dedicated to rehabilitating and rehoming retired Standardbred racehorses. The first 250 registrants receive a custom T-shirt, and every finisher receives a medal. The day wraps up with an open house at Sunshine Horses in a family-friendly atmosphere, introducing younger participants to endurance sports.
