About

The Bill Scott Memorial 5K Walk/Run is a 3.1-mile run and walk held in Liverpool, near Syracuse, New York, honoring William "Bill" Scott Jr., former president of the Syracuse Teachers Association, who passed away in 2021. First held in 2022 at Burnet Park, the race now takes place on a flatter course at Onondaga Lake Park, Saw Mill Creek area, with a 9 a.m. start.

Proceeds fund a scholarship for a high school senior pursuing a degree in psychology or human services, open to seniors from the Syracuse City, Jamesville-DeWitt, Hannibal and East Syracuse-Minoa school districts. Prizes go to the top three overall male and female finishers.
