About

Shawangunk Ridge Trail Run/Hike is held in Rosendale, New York, on September 12, 2026, along the Shawangunk Ridge. Three trail formats are offered: a 70 Miler (112.7 km), a 30 Miler (48.3 km) and a half marathon (13.1 miles). As the name indicates, participants may run or hike.

The run-or-hike framing makes this an unusually open event: the half marathon is within reach of strong hikers as well as runners, and the 30-mile is a first-ultra-length outing for anyone comfortable with long days on rocky ridge trails. The 70-mile is a very long, self-managed effort that suits experienced ultrarunners and fast-packers who are used to moving through the night. Whichever distance you pick, train on technical terrain, practice power-hiking, and for the long formats plan gear, lights and nutrition as carefully as fitness.
