About

The Happy Half Marathon in Ellicottville takes place in Cattaraugus County, New York, in early May, with a festive and offbeat atmosphere that invites costumes. The program features the Southern Tier Brewing Beer Mile (one mile), a 5K road race and the half marathon (13.1 miles) as the main event.

Ellicottville is a small town appreciated for its calm, local restaurants and craft breweries. Within an hour of town you can find Allegany State Park and the Holiday Valley Treetop Adventure Park for a day of zip lines and climbing. The hills of western New York mean the half marathon is unlikely to be pancake flat, so train with some rolling terrain.
