The Happy Half Marathon & 5K takes place in Ellicottville, New York, at Holiday Valley Resort, in early May. The aim is to make racing fun, with surprises along the course that add to the experience. A half marathon (13.1 miles) starts at 9:00 a.m. and a 5K at 9:20, and an individual Beer Mile (one mile) is held at 1:00 p.m.

Participants can expect medals and race shirts, although availability may be limited for late registrants. The resort setting in the hills of western New York gives runners a scenic backdrop, and a ski area often means rolling terrain, so ease into the pace and be ready for some climbing.
