About
Yellowstone Half Marathon takes place on June 11, 2027, in West Yellowstone, Gallatin County, Montana. Two distances are offered: the half marathon (13.1 mi) and a 5K (3.1 mi), on a course among lakes, ponds and waterfalls. Start times are not listed in our records.
Half marathons at this altitude ask for a different plan from those at sea level: your heart rate sits higher at every pace, and the usual advice to start conservatively becomes a requirement rather than a suggestion. Give the first three miles away deliberately — if you still feel strong at that point, the remaining ten are where you use it.
Highlights
- Lakes and ponds
- Off-road
