Semi-Marathon de Novo Mesto

The Semi-Marathon de Novo Mesto, the Novo Mesto Half Marathon, takes place in Novo Mesto, in Slovenia's Lower Carniola region, a town renowned for its archaeological heritage. On 15 November 2026 runners can choose between a 5 km, a 10 km and the half marathon, alongside a 15 km or 22 km walk; a canicross (2.5 km) and a 2 km fun run are held on 14 November, and there are also children's races.

The half marathon starts in the historic centre of Novo Mesto. The course forms a loop that follows the Krka river almost all the way, alternating between urban and more natural sections, on a fast route through old streets, past historic bridges and across pastoral landscapes.

Slovenia, more than 60% of which is covered by forest, provides a green setting here at the foot of the Julian Alps, reflecting the country's natural and cultural richness.
