About

The Sentier de Risnjak is an alpine trail event in Risnjak National Park, starting from Crni Lug in the Gorski Kotar area of Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Croatia. Three trail races are on offer on 24 July 2027: Trail Rys (Lynx), 32.7 km with 1,698 m of ascent; Trail Vuk (Wolf), 23.5 km with 1,196 m; and Trail Medo (Bear), 11 km with 455 m.

The routes cross karst formations, with steep climbs and panoramas that, on a clear day, stretch as far as the Adriatic. The park, nicknamed Croatia's "green lungs", takes its name from the lynx, emblem of these wild mountains. The race base is a few tens of minutes from the port city of Rijeka and around an hour and a half from Zagreb. This technical, demanding event is aimed at trail runners used to rocky ground and big climbs.
