About

Santa Clarita Trail Race takes place in Santa Clarita, California, on October 31, 2026, with four trail distances all starting at 7 a.m.: a 28K of about 17.4 miles, a half marathon over 13.1 miles, a 10K and a 5K. The courses run through Placerita Canyon and mix sunny singletrack with rougher road, taking in demanding hills and panoramic views over the Santa Clarita Valley. New Global Adventures organizes the event, which is designed for runners of every level.

The spread of distances is the appeal. The 5K and 10K are approachable introductions to trail running, while the 28K asks for real climbing legs and a willingness to hike the steep sections. If the longer options are your target, spend the preceding months getting your weekly long run onto hilly trail rather than flat pavement.
