Mardi Gras Madness 5K/10K

Mardi Gras Madness 5K/10K is run in Santa Clarita, California, on February 28, 2027, organized by the Santa Clarita Junior Chamber and the Santa Clarita Track Club. Three formats share the morning: the 10K (6.2 miles) and 5K (3.1 miles) both go off at 8:00 a.m., and the Mini Madness 1K starts earlier at 7:30 a.m. The courses are USATF-certified and take in paseos, bridges, and sections along the South Fork River Trail. Entry includes chip timing, a custom finisher medal, and access to a health and fitness expo.

Proceeds support the local Junior Chamber and Students Off And Running, a program that gives area youth a free marathon training experience. On the running side, the certified 10K is the one to target if you want a time that counts, and the 1K gives younger kids their own start. Afterward there is a beer garden, food, a costume contest, games, a silent auction, and live entertainment, so plan to stay a while.
