About

Run Like a Hero: 4th of July 5k brings runners and community members together in Chico, California, for a 5K (3.1 miles) run/walk starting at 7:30 a.m. on July 4, 2027, celebrating endurance, generosity and the spirit of Independence Day. Organized by the Chico Striders and the Chico Running Club, the race supports the Chico Striders Run Strong scholarship for graduating high school athletes.

Participants are invited to embrace the theme by dressing as their favorite heroes or in patriotic outfits, adding color and energy to the festive atmosphere. The race is professionally timed by the Chico Running Club. Bibs and packets can be picked up ahead of time and on race day, and post-race refreshments encourage everyone to stay, cheer and celebrate every finisher.
