Run/Walk For The Rare! takes place in Salem on June 13, 2027, with a 10K (6.2 miles), a 5K (3.1 miles) and a 1-mile fun run, all starting at 10:00 a.m. Organized by the Haley's Heroes Foundation, it supports International Batten Disease Awareness Day.

The event raises awareness of rare diseases, which affect 1 in 10 people worldwide, many of them with no FDA-approved treatment. The race starts and finishes at the North Meadow Pavilion. Registration includes a T-shirt, coupons for chicken wings, fries and ice cream, and access to a fun photo booth, for a day built around movement, community and support.
