Run for the Girls 5K - Girls Shelter of Fort Smith takes place in Fort Smith on June 5, 2027, with a 5K run and a 5K walk (3.1 miles), both starting at 8:00 a.m. It is a fundraiser for the Girls Shelter of Fort Smith, Inc.

The chip-timed, USATF-certified 5K is open to all ages, and a 1-mile family fun run comes with games, activities and food. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register by a set date, with extra shirts available on race day. The shelter provides a residential program for at-risk girls ages 12 to 17, focused on education, life skills and family reunification, and uses counseling and structured programs to promote responsible citizenship and help its residents overcome the challenges they face.
