About

Run For The Amazon 5 K is held in Coconut Creek, Florida, on October 24, 2026. Two distances are listed at 7:00 a.m.: the 5K (3.1 miles) and a 1K for children.

An early start is worth respecting rather than sleeping through — get to the venue with enough time to jog, run a few strides, and be on the line without rushing. Over a short race, pacing discipline matters more than anything you do in the final week: pick a target you can hold for all 3.1 miles instead of banking time early and paying for it after two. Four to six weeks with two quality sessions a week, one at threshold and one built around 400s or 800s near race effort, will sharpen you nicely. The 1K gives younger runners a finish line of their own on the same morning.
