The Run Against ALS 5K takes place in Mountain Lakes on September 25, 2027. The 5K starts at 9 a.m., followed at 9:45 a.m. by a 1 Mile Kids Fun Run. A virtual option is also available: registrants cover the distance wherever and whenever they like during the announced window.

Funds raised support people living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, help pay for equipment and fund research into this neurodegenerative disease. Organizers rely on volunteers on race day. For experienced runners, a fall 5K slots easily into a longer training block as a race-paced workout without disrupting the week; for beginners, it remains the first achievable milestone after a few weeks of regular running.
