Rock Solid Marathon, Half Marathon

The Rock Solid Marathon and Half Marathon take place in Coupeville, Washington, in late February, on Whidbey Island. Both races start at 8:00 a.m., with the marathon covering 26.2 miles and the half marathon 13.1 miles, and both begin and end at the historic Captain Whidbey Inn.

Runners follow winding coastal roads, trails and natural beaches, with scenery that shows off the island's wild beauty. Every participant receives a custom shirt and a finisher medal. The Captain Whidbey Inn serves as race headquarters, offering discounted rooms and hosting dinners before and after the race. Proceeds go to the Rock Solid Foundation, a nonprofit charity. February in the Pacific Northwest tends to be wet and breezy, so bring a rain shell and plan for variable footing.
