The Race For A Soldier 12K & 5K, or Virtual Run takes place in Gig Harbor on September 12, 2027, and is open to runners of all ages and abilities. The program features a half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km) at 7:50 a.m., a 12K (7.5 miles) at 7:55 a.m., a 5K (3.1 miles) at 8 a.m. and a Kids' Run at 10 a.m.

The event raises awareness of the challenges faced by service members, veterans and first responders dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. It supports the Permission To Start Dreaming foundation, which works to improve their well-being through a range of programs and support initiatives.
