Petal to the Medal Endurance Race

The Petal to the Medal Endurance Race takes place in Belmont, in Gaston County, North Carolina, on August 7, 2027, as an 8-hour timed event. Runners complete as many loops as they can in a public park, aiming to cover the greatest possible distance in the time allowed.

The format suits runners new to longer events as well as seasoned endurance athletes looking to maximize their total mileage. Over such a long stretch, pacing and fueling become central. It is an accessible endurance challenge in a wooded, natural setting that lets runners focus on the effort.
