About

The Pagan Midwinter Marathon is an off-road ultra marathon of more than 28 miles (45.1 km), with a 14-mile half marathon (22.5 km), held on 24 January 2027 in the wild landscapes of Dartmoor, West Devon. The long race starts at 8:30 and the half marathon at 11:00.

The course demands serious endurance, with more than 1,500 metres of climbing on the long route (700 metres on the half) over rough, muddy ground and tough ascents. You will run past ancient stone circles and pagan sites while facing Dartmoor's unpredictable elements, including extreme weather that will test body and mind.

Athletes enjoy full support from the OuterEdge team, with well-stocked aid stations, professional medical cover and reliable digital timing. Every finisher receives a bespoke medal, and the fastest runners take home unique trophies in recognition of their performances.
