About

The Hameldown Hammer is a tough, demanding trail race on Dartmoor, starting from Drewsteignton on 27 February 2027, and a true test of endurance in the same mould as the organisers' Dartmoor Volcano race. The programme includes the Hammer Ultra (30 miles / 48.3 km), a half marathon (21.1 km) and a 7-mile race (11.3 km).

With more than 600 metres of elevation gain, the Hammer course is 98% on well-defined trails, mixing grass, rock and occasional mud as it winds through woodland clearings. It features an iconic double ascent of the impressive Hameldown ridge. The steep climbs are rewarded with incredible views across Dartmoor and its tors, showcasing some of the finest trail running the moor has to offer.

New to the programme, the Hameldown 7EVEN, the ‘Long 10K’, packs in more than 300 metres of climbing while keeping the double ascent of Hameldown ridge. Both courses are fully waymarked and marshalled throughout.
