About

The Owyhee Off-Road Challenge takes place in Adrian, Oregon, in the second half of March, in desert country about 50 miles from Boise. Distances are a 55K (34.2 miles) at 7:00 a.m., a half marathon (13.1 miles) at 10:00 a.m., a 10K (6.2 miles) at 10:30 a.m. and a 5K (3.1 miles) at 11:00 a.m.

All of the courses offer wide views over the Snake River and the Owyhee valleys. Terrain varies between hard-packed dirt and loose rock, with short, steep climbs and descents, and it is meant for runners who are comfortable on technical off-road trails. Races start at Two Rivers Community Park on well-marked courses with aid stations and volunteers. It is a community event run by the Adrian Sports Boosters, and all proceeds fund equipment for the local school's track and youth programs.
