Orange County Turkey Trot

Orange County Turkey Trot takes place in Westpark, in Irvine, California, on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. The morning starts with the IRVINE/OC 1 Mile Turkey Dash at 7:30 a.m., followed by the IRVINE/OC Turkey Trot 5K (3.1 miles) at 8:00 a.m. Both events are open to runners and walkers of all ages.

With the mile going off first, kids and casual walkers can finish before the 5K field lines up, and a parent can easily do both. The 5K is a fine target for a first race or a pre-holiday PR attempt: six to eight weeks of three runs a week, with one session of short intervals at 5K pace, will have you ready. Late November in Orange County is usually mild by mid-morning but can be crisp at 7:30 a.m., so arrive in a light layer you can shed and take a few minutes to jog and loosen up before your start.
