About
North Shore Classic takes place on May 30, 2027, in Chicago, Illinois. Two distances are offered: the half marathon (13.1 mi) and a 5K (3.1 mi), on a course crossing several neighbourhoods. Start times are not listed in our records.
A shared start for a 5K and a half marathon always produces the same trap: the opening mile is run at the shorter race's pace by half the field. Set your watch to average pace rather than instant pace before the gun, let the 5K runners go, and you will find the road opens up considerably after the first turn.
