Newman YMCA Turkey Trot

Newman YMCA Turkey Trot takes place in Seekonk, Massachusetts, on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026. Two formats start together at 8:00 a.m.: a 10K (6.2 miles) and a 5K (3.1 miles). Organized by the Newman YMCA, it is a holiday-morning run for the local community in southeastern Massachusetts, open to runners and walkers of different levels.

The shared start means you can run alongside friends or family who have chosen the other distance, at least for the opening stretch. The 10K rewards patience: hold a comfortable pace for the first 3 miles and you will finish strong. Eight weeks of training with a weekly run of 6 to 7 miles gets you there. The 5K is the better call for a first race or for anyone who wants a short, brisk effort before the meal. Late November in New England is cold at 8:00 a.m., so bring gloves and warm up with an easy jog.
