The NC Potato Festival Tater Trot (5K Run & 1 Mile Walk) is held every year as part of the North Carolina Potato Festival in Elizabeth City. On May 15, 2027, the Tater Trot 5K (3.1 miles) and the Tater Tot Trot 1-mile (1.6 km) fun walk/run both start at 8:00 a.m.

This family-friendly event is sponsored by the Coast Guard Enlisted Association in partnership with the festival, with timing by Mettle Events. Proceeds support the local chapter of the Coast Guard Enlisted Association and its initiatives for Coast Guard members and their families.
