About

The Mustang Bear Paw 5K is a family-friendly 5K (3.1 miles) in Eagle River, Anchorage, held on July 10, 2027, at 10:30 a.m. alongside the Bear Paw Festival parade. The race follows the parade route, cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd, and starts and finishes in downtown Eagle River.

Recently named the USATF Alaska Association 5K road championship, the race offers prize money to the top runners who are USATF members. Membership is optional but required to be eligible for prize money. Overall and age-group winners receive awards.

For safety reasons, pets, bikes, rollerblades and skateboards are not allowed, and participants with strollers are asked to start at the back.
