The Monsal Trail October Half Marathon & 10k Weekend takes place on 24 and 25 October 2026 in the Derbyshire Dales, on one of the Peak District's most iconic trails, with spectacular views over Derbyshire's rolling dales. A half marathon (21.1 km) and a 10K start at 10:00 on each of the two days.

Starting from the former Bakewell station, the event is a rare chance to run a traffic-free course along an old Midland Railway line. You pass through four historic tunnels and over the remarkable Monsal Viaduct, with panoramic views opening up at every turn. Suitable for runners of all abilities, it is also an excellent choice for anyone preparing for an autumn marathon. Participants choose between the two distances and can run on either day or on both, making for a flexible and memorable experience.
