Mines of Spain Trail Races

Mines of Spain Trail Races takes place on August 7, 2027, near Dubuque, in eastern Iowa. The half marathon (13.1 mi) starts at 7:30 a.m., and the seven-miler (11.3 km) and four-miler (6.4 km) at 7:45 a.m., across dirt paths, tallgrass prairie and dense hardwood forest.

Varied ground like this rewards adaptability rather than raw speed: prairie sections are exposed and fast, forest sections are shaded and slow, and the change comes every mile or two. Run by effort throughout and resist the temptation to chase back time lost under the trees — the open stretches will give it to you without your asking.
