About
The Military Appreciation Day 5K is an annual 5K (3.1 miles) at Ocean Beach Park in New London, Connecticut, run on a flat, fast waterfront course. The next edition is on August 15, 2027.
Runners and walkers are welcome, but pets are not allowed. Entry fees vary by category (adult, veteran, active-duty military, student or child), and race-day registration is available for an extra fee; registering before a set date guarantees a T-shirt. Water stations line the course, and custom medals go to the top finishers in each age group. The event is backed by local sponsors including General Dynamics/Electric Boat, and proceeds benefit the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
