Memorial Day Freedom Run 5K/10K/13.1 Chicago/Evanston

The Memorial Day Freedom Run takes place in Chicago, Illinois, in late May, with the Evanston area also named in the event title. It honors the service and sacrifice of military members, and runners or walkers can take part alone or in groups at any pace. Distances are a half marathon (13.1 miles), a 10K, a 5K and a family 1-mile fun run, all listed with a 7:30 a.m. start.

In-person and virtual options exist, with coordinators providing support and optional timing. Registration includes a race shirt, a finisher medal, a towel or gift, a digital training pack and an invitation to join local running clubs. Gifts are shipped directly to participants, and money raised from miles logged after the race supports charitable causes.
