Medal of Honor 5K Run & Walk - Sunrise

Medal of Honor 5K Run & Walk - Sunrise takes place on December 12, 2026 in Sunrise, Florida. Two options start together at 8:00 a.m.: a 5K run (3.1 miles) and a 3K walk. Put on by Rodriguez Charities, the event supports local high school JROTC programs and the Toys for Tots campaign, with an emphasis on community backing for veterans, childhood development and youth scholarships.

Having a separate walk means the two groups stay out of each other's way, which helps if you are genuinely racing the 5K. For that, one weekly session of intervals plus easy running the rest of the time is enough across four to six weeks. If you would rather take part than compete, the 3K walk covers a little under two miles.
