The Loggerhead Liftoff Beach Run is a 5K (3.1-mile) beach run in Sunset Beach hosted by the SOHO Running Club to kick off sea turtle season, held on May 8, 2027, at 8 a.m.
The event raises awareness and funds for loggerhead turtle conservation, with proceeds going to the Sunset Beach Sea Turtle Patrol. Participants receive a custom turtle-shaped medal, and cash prizes are up for grabs in several categories. Entry fees vary, and registration stays open until race day. Strollers and pets are not allowed on the beach course. Custom tank tops go to those who register before the deadline.
