About

The Kiwanis Independence Day 5K in Charlottesville is a 5K run/walk held on July 4, 2027 at 7:30 a.m., and a tradition since 1983. The Kiwanis Club of Charlottesville and the Charlottesville Track Club organize this community event.

Participants follow a marked course that starts and finishes at Hollymead Elementary School. Proceeds go to the Salvation Army's Camp Rappahannock, Central Little League and Charlottesville Community Bikes, so the race supports several local charities while adding to the community's Fourth of July celebrations.
