The Kansas City Zoo Run in Kansas City features a 4-mile (6.4 km) race at 8:30 a.m. and a 1-mile (1.6 km) run at 9:45 a.m. on September 18, 2027. Each year the event spotlights a different animal species, and participants receive merchandise themed around the featured animal.

A portion of the registration fees goes to Friends of the Zoo. Participants receive items such as a custom T-shirt, a finisher medal and a single admission to the Kansas City Zoo.
