About

The Hibiscus Half Marathon takes place in East Honolulu, Hawaii, in late May, around Memorial Day weekend, with family-friendly activities and races of several lengths: a half marathon (13.1 miles) at 5:30 a.m., a 15K (9.3 miles) at 5:45 a.m. and a 5-miler at 6:00 a.m. Everything starts and finishes at Kapiolani Park, and the finish line closes at 9:30 a.m. sharp.

Awards go to the top three men and women in many divisions of each race. The expo and packet pickup are held at the Alohilani Resort in the days before the race. The very early start helps runners avoid the worst of the Hawaiian heat and humidity, but plan for warm conditions anyway and keep to a pace that lets you beat the cutoff.
