The Haunted 5K, 10K, 13.1M & 26.2M at Des Moines, IA takes place on October 9, 2027, in Des Moines, Iowa. It is the most complete stop in the series, with four distances all starting at 8:00 a.m.: a marathon (26.2 miles / 42.2 km), a half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km), a 10K and a 5K, all run in a costumed, Halloween-inspired atmosphere.

Having a marathon on the menu changes the nature of the event: at that distance nothing can be improvised, and four to five months of training with long runs of up to about 18.5 miles (30 km) remains the norm. The half marathon and the 10K are aimed at runners who already train, while the 5K welcomes beginners and families. Awards go to the fastest times as well as the best costumes, and every finisher receives a medal.
