About
Hare Mountain 100 is held in Hagarville, Arkansas, starting on October 23, 2026. Three trail distances are on the program: a 100-mile and a 50-mile race, both starting at 5:00 AM, and a 60 km race (about 37 miles) starting at 7:00 AM. The 60 km option sits between a 50K and a 50-mile, which gives runners a rare intermediate step in the Ozark region.
If you are eyeing the 100-mile, plan on a long build of 20 to 24 weeks with back-to-back long runs, at least one overnight training session, and a crew or drop-bag strategy you have rehearsed. The 50-mile is a natural next step for runners with a couple of 50Ks behind them. The 60 km distance is well suited to a first ultra beyond 50K, since the later start means fewer hours in the dark. Whatever you choose, practice power hiking: Arkansas mountain trails reward runners who know when to walk.
