The GTC Sunrise Run 8k is a major 8K (5 miles) road race in Simpsonville, organized by the Greenville Track Club and known as the kickoff to summer. The race is set for June 12, 2027, with a 6:16 a.m. start, and it welcomes participants from the Corporate Shield series.

Giveaways have included items such as yoga towels and socks, and the event has seen a new course record set by Karl Thiessen. Bibs can be picked up the day before or on race day. A large parking area is available near the start, and Church Street will be closed to traffic. Winners in various categories are recognized at an awards ceremony after the race.
