About

The Golden Harvest Half Marathon & 5k/10k - Greater Chicago comes to Darien, in the Chicago area, on September 26, 2027, with an 8 a.m. start. Five events are on offer: a half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km), a 10K (6.2 miles), a 5K (3.1 miles), a 1-mile race and a Kid's Dash for children 10 and under. Chip timing, live results, half marathon pacers and post-race refreshments are included, along with a T-shirt and medal for everyone.

This road race is a particularly good fit for a first supported half marathon: the pacers take the guesswork out of managing pace over an unfamiliar distance. To approach 13.1 miles with confidence, runners should have completed at least one 10-mile (16 km) training run and be comfortable drinking on the move. The shorter distances are within reach with two or three regular runs a week.
