About

The F^3 Cap Sauers Trail Marathon & 10 Mile takes place in Palos Hills, Illinois, in early May. It is held in the Cap Sauers Holding nature preserve, the largest undeveloped tract in Cook County, and follows the Sag Valley Trail system, including the Yellow, Green, Blue and Tan trails. The trail marathon (26.2 miles) starts at 7:30 a.m. and the 10 Mile at 8:00.

Runners face notable elevation change, which makes this a hilly course by Chicago standards. The wide equestrian trails allow two-way traffic and encourage camaraderie among runners. Plan for uneven footing, shorter strides on the climbs, and more time on your feet than a road marathon of the same distance would take.
