About

The Frio Trio is a multisport endurance festival in Leakey, in the Frio Valley of the Texas Hill Country, held on October 1–2, 2027. On the running side, it offers a 50K night ultra trail run and a 10-mile (16.1 km) night trail run, both starting at 6:15 p.m. on October 1, then on October 2 a trail half marathon (13.1 miles / 21.1 km) and a trail 5K at 2 p.m., followed by a youth 1-mile (1.6 km) trail run at 4 p.m.

The festival also features gravel bike races of 60 miles (96.6 km) and 33 miles (53.1 km), starting at 7 a.m. on October 2, as well as mountain biking, stand-up paddleboarding and a rafting trip down the Frio River. The off-road racing comes with a laid-back vibe, with live music, food and campfire gatherings on the program.
