About

The Friends of Yellow River State Forest Trail Run/Walk takes place in Harpers Ferry, Iowa, in early May, over a weekend. It is an inclusive event for all ages, organized by the Friends of Yellow River State Forest. Options include a half marathon (13.1 miles) at 7:30 a.m., a 10K at 8:00, a 5K at 8:30 and an evening 5K at 6:30 p.m.

Participants who register before the deadline get a commemorative shirt and can win prizes from local artists, and there is a special challenge for those who take part in the races on both days. The organizers invite everyone to enjoy the scenic forest trails with friends, family and well-behaved dogs. Forest trails can be slick after rain, so choose shoes with grip.
