Festivus 5K Run

Festivus 5K Run is held in Chesterton, Indiana, on December 13, 2026, and is put on by Race the Region. The 1K Kids Dash goes first at 8:10 a.m., followed by the 5K at 8:30 a.m. The 5K is chip-timed with live results, and finishers receive a personalized medal and certificate; mini Festivus poles go to the top overall and age-group runners.

One rule is worth knowing before you line up: you have to start within five minutes of the official gun or risk disqualification, so be in the corral early rather than jogging up late. Packet pickup is available in advance, and you can also register and collect your bib on race morning. The children's run is non-competitive, awards are handed out once the 5K is done, and the whole morning is short enough to leave the rest of your Sunday free.
