Esplanade 5K - Boston

Esplanade 5K - Boston is based at Fiedler Field on the Charles River Esplanade in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 25, 2026. The 5K run starts at 9:00 a.m. and the 5K walk follows at 10:15 a.m., so the two groups each get the course to themselves. Around the racing there are family activities, tastings, food, music and a beer garden for anyone 21 and over. Proceeds support the Esplanade Association's work maintaining and improving the park.

Separating the run and the walk by more than an hour is a genuine advantage if you intend to race: no weaving, no congestion, just 3.1 miles at your own pace. That makes it a useful late-season time trial before winter training. Walkers get the calmer end of the deal, starting once the field has cleared.
